Accommodation

We offer basic, comfortable and affordable accommodation. 12 twin chalets with either 2 single beds or a double bed. En-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. 2 family chalets with a double bed and 2 single beds. En-suite bathroom with bath and shower, toilet and washbasin. Our thatched roof chalets are all equipped with mosquito nets.

Activities:

Game Drive (2.5-3 hours):

We offer guided morning (06:00 AM), afternoon (04:00PM) and night game drives (08:00PM) in our open game viewing vehicles. Our game drives either take place on Elephant Sands’ 16000 ha private conservancy or in a nearby wildlife concession. Enjoy the opportunity to view wildlife in its natural surroundings. More then 95000 resident and migrating elephants in this area will make the most beautiful sightings of these gentle giants possible for you. Other wildlife this beautiful area has to offer includes buffalo, lion, giraffe, wild dog, hyena, steenbok, leopard, kudu and plenty more.


Bush Walk (2 hours): Let our professional guide share his knowledge about the bush with you. Learn about the fascinating uses of native plants and find out how to identify animal tracks. On foot you will smell, hear, see, feel and experience the bush in a unique way!

Bush Braai: Enjoy a delicious hearty meal prepared for you by our wonderful chef on the open fire. Depart in the late afternoon on a game drive to the braai site. Witness the beauty of the bush as day turns into night. After an unforgettable sunset we will be returning to the lodge.

Directions to Elephant Sands

Elephant Sands is situated in Botswana, Africa, 53 kilometers north of Nata on the Nata - Kasane road

How te get there?

Elephant Sands can be reached by car or public transport,
bus only.

 

Distances:

To Elephant Sands from:

Nata: 51KM
Francistown: 240KM
Maun: 350KM
Kasane: 260KM
Martins Drift (border South Africa): 500KM

4x4 Car:
The lodge is roughly 1.4 KM from the main road but easily reachable with a 2x4 with good clearance. Please keep in mind that for most of Botswana’s National Parks a 4x4 is essential though.

 

Directions:

Coming from Nata you will drive about 51 KM towards Kasane and turn left at the Elephant Sands sign and bus stop. From there you just follow the sand road towards the lodge. Coming from Kasane/Kazangula you will drive past Pandamatenga and past the veterinary check point. Please be aware that you are not allowed to transport any meat/fruit/vegetables through this checkpoint when travelling South. Past this check point you will find the Elephant Sands sign and bus stop after roughly 9 KM, turn right and just follow the sand road towards the lodge.
