Rakops River Lodge began operation in March 2012. It is located only 7 km from Rakops in Xhwitshaa area and is surrounded by short Seshi bush and visitations by the Makgadikgadi elephants, elands, ostrich and abundant different types of fish.

Accommodation at Rakop River Lodge

It offers individually thatched en-suite guest rooms, with modern showers and flat screen television, refreshment facilities on the river banks at reasonable price.

There is a modern camping area that comprises a Lwapa (which is a traditional Tswana Tribe courtyard, where breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals are normally prepared and also serve as a dining area).

We also have a full ablution block for both male and female sections that has hot water showers and modern clean toilets up to international standards. Lighting is also provided in the camping area. Individuals provide their own tents and amenities.

Rakop River Lodge Amenities and Facilities

The lodge is situated on the Boteti River Banks which offer absolute relaxation given the freshness of ambience from the river which is currently flooding. It is ideal for conferences, special functions,events and camping.

DSTV channels are available at the lodge. There is also a restaurant which offers full breakfast to satisfy your first meal of the day, lunch and dinner are available on request. Freshly caught fish is available on the menu daily.

Rakops River Lodge is environmentally conscious and very friendly with nature that is why we always go green where possible. The lodge depends mostly on solar power. The benefit of using solar power is to supply electricity that does not emit any greenhouse gases.

Therefore, there won't be any air pollution given off by solar generated electricity. We also have a strict no littering policy, because we understand that it is important to preserve nature for future generations and for health wise reasons. Residents or visitors are advised to walk only in pathways.
